London Chinatown Chinese Association was formed in 1978. Its primary objectives were serving the interest of businesses and welfare of the community in Chinatown.
Since 1980s LCCA evolved in organising cultural activities and Chinese New Year Carnival, promoting and sharing Chinese culture with the communities and local and overseas visitors. It also worked in partnership with Westminster City Council, central government departments, Metropolitan Police, Greater London Authority and many agencies for mutual benefit. In the recent years LCCA also assisted many businesses breaking into the Chinese market in UK.
LCCA plays host to and welcome many overseas visitors, trade and government delegations from all over the world to Chinatown. We are planning to welcome many thousands of visitors to London during the London 2012 Olympics.
The LCCA has contributed greatly turning a quiet area in Soho into one of the most visited and colourful Chinatown in the world.
First of all, I am honoured and indeed a great personal privilege to be elected as the President of this prestigious London Chinatown Chinese Association (LCCA).
Having first opened our first See Woo business in London Chinatown some 35 years ago , I have personally witnessed with great interest and excitement of the rapid growth and development of both our family business and our community over these years. Today, we can all see that London Chinatown is both a very vibrant and successful community. I am pleased and proud to say that our Association has played a small part and made some very important contributions towards the success.
It is therefore my very earnest wish and hope that working together with the rest of the local community and government agencies, we will bring further development, progress, and success, to both our community and London Chinatown Chinese Association.
Finally, I thank all of you for your kind and generous support to the Association and all The activities and functions in the past; and continue to do so in the future.
